Advanced Practice Final Independent Research Report

We are undertaking a policy project which aims to identify any regulatory challenges and risks presented by registrants’ advancing their practice, and how the HCPC should respond to these to ensure public protection and to support our registrants’ professionalism and good practice.

The HCPC commissioned a research team from the University of Bradford to undertake extensive research and engagement (July 2020-January 2021), in order to identify a range of facts, opinions and experiences, from different stakeholders groups, across various settings, professions and geographies. You can find out more about the background of this project here

We have now released the full research report which you can download opposite on this page.

As we wanted to gain feedback from all of our stakeholder groups we also undertook a programme of service user engagement in 2020. Please note that this report also covers the engagement we ran on the standards of profiency consultation. Please find it to download next to this introduction.
